A Turkish family has filed a lawsuit in Palm Beach County Circuit Court against Boca Prep International School, claiming their daughter was expelled after she reported a classmate’s ethnically charged remark about Turks and Jewish people.
Claims in the Lawsuit
The complaint includes allegations of battery, false imprisonment, negligence, breach of contract, and ethnic discrimination. The defendants named in the suit are Boca Prep International School, SEK Institutional Communications Corp., and Head of School Carissa Karakaedos.
Damages Sought
The family is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and has requested a jury trial.
