Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputies responded shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday to Sandalfoot Square, 23066 State Road 7 near Boca Raton, after relatives reported an armed man threatening suicide. Deputies found 30-year-old Joshua Senfeld with a firearm and negotiated with him from 9:55 p.m. to 11:29 p.m.
Deputies fired during the standoff. Senfeld died after deputies attempted CPR and called fire rescue.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating. The deputies involved are on paid administrative leave while the investigation continues.
