Palm Beach County Fire Rescue deployed 30 Urban Search and Rescue firefighters to Florida’s Panhandle on Thursday morning for the approaching Hurricane Isaias. It was the team’s first state mission. State officials activated the team overnight.
The crew brought boats, search equipment and specialized rescue tools. Its members may stay in the area for as long as two weeks, depending on conditions and community needs.
