The Town of Palm Beach is moving forward with plans to replace the seawall at Midtown Beach, with construction expected to begin in December. The project could close the beach for up to 18 months.
Project Scope
The work will cover approximately 2,715 feet of seawall stretching between Royal Palm Way and Gulfstream Road. The project cost is estimated at a minimum of $20 million.
What to Expect
Construction would close three beach access points and remove parallel parking along South Ocean Boulevard. The timeline may be influenced by sea turtle nesting season and permitting requirements. The town is using a progressive design-build approach, and the final design has not yet been determined.
