Jupiter Fire Rescue is scheduled to begin operations Wednesday, following the end of Palm Beach County Fire Rescue’s 42 years of service in Jupiter. Firetrucks and equipment were moved from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Station 16 as the transition got underway.
The Jupiter Town Council voted in 2023 to establish a local department. Jupiter Fire Rescue will start with three fire stations. Town leaders estimate the department will cost nearly $10 million less in its first year and say fire and EMS services will continue without interruption.
