The City of Boca Raton is adding speed cameras to three more school zones, bringing the total number of monitored zones to six. The expansion begins Nov. 9.
New Camera Locations
The cameras will be installed in school zones serving Calusa Elementary School, Blue Lake Elementary School, and the Omni Middle School/Spanish River High School area.
Warning Period
Each new location will have a 30-day warning period before civil penalties take effect. After that period, drivers exceeding the posted speed limit by 11 mph or more while school zone lights are flashing may face a $100 civil penalty.
