According to WPBF, the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser’s Office launched an online calculator Wednesday for homeowners who already have a homestead exemption to estimate how proposed Amendment 3 could affect their property taxes.
The tool lets property owners search for their property and compare current taxes with estimated amounts in 2027 and 2028. WPBF reported the calculator also shows projected property tax revenue under the proposed change.
Amendment 3 is set to appear on the Nov. 3 general election ballot and would require 60% voter approval to pass. If approved, homestead exemptions for property taxes statewide would increase to $150,000 in 2027 and $250,000 in 2028. The estimates are not final because property values and millage rates can change over time.
